Quality Italian sits on the second floor of 57 W 57th St, offering a lively take on Italian and American steakhouse dining right in the heart of Manhattan. The space buzzes with energy, especially during peak dinner hours, where the combination of dim lighting and loud music sets a spirited, almost clubby atmosphere. It’s a spot where groups celebrating or sharing a night out will feel right at home, though smaller parties should be prepared for a somewhat boisterous vibe.

The menu presents a curated blend of Italian classics and hearty steaks that cater well to those craving rich, indulgent dishes. The Chicken Parmesan Pizza stands out as a crowd-pleaser—enough to share among a small group as a meal or substantial appetizer. Pasta options range from the silky Potato & Robiola Gnocchi to the boldly flavored Spicy Lobster Rigatoni Alla Vodka, while steak lovers will find serious choices like the Prime Aged Tomahawk Ribsteak and classic Filet Mignon. There’s attention to detailed preparation, such as tableside truffle butter service for steaks, which adds a touch of theater to the meal.

Quality Italian balances Italian staples with elevated American steakhouse fare, but some guests note that elements like the pasta can veer toward the saltier side or occasionally feel less refined than expected. Still, dishes such as the gnocchi and burger receive positive nods, and the starters like Garlic Monkey Bread and Grilled Octopus add variety and textural contrast.

Service here tends to be attentive and knowledgeable, though the busy atmosphere can make the dining experience feel brisk or slightly fragmented. It’s clear the team aims to keep things flowing smoothly despite the space filling up quickly. The added bonus is the bar on the first floor featuring open garage doors, creating an inviting casual spot for pre- or post-dinner drinks, especially on nicer days.

This is a restaurant that works best for diners who want a vibrant New York City evening with a mix of Italian comfort food and prime steaks—ideal for groups or celebrations rather than quiet, intimate dinners. Visiting on a weekend night or during a special occasion means embracing the lively energy and bold flavors, while opting for a weekday lunch might offer a calmer glimpse of the spot’s charm, especially with outdoor seating available when the weather allows.

Return visit. Cocktail shrimp sumptuous. Nicely large and chewy. Pasta bit salty, but gnocchi excellent. Burger great, perhaps having leftover prime beef for patty procured also for Quality Meats brother helps. Salad nice as well. ---------- Quality meats around and been several times. Never got around to eat here. 2nd floor location smart. Sad to see a view of Rue 57 closed across the street. Hot bread to start. Chicken parmesan pizza style good to feed 3 people. Nice to share with leafy sides and condiments. Mini ravioli wagon was ok. Pasta nice. Salad good too. Serving adequate. As family style, had everything at once which could have been better if adjusted to stagger to make sure everything can be eaten hot. Yet, we didn't request so either.

Tried quality Italian while visiting Manhattan. The service was amazing. The food was amazing too, and the drinks were on point. We order the famous chicken Parmesan pizza, which is a huge chicken with cheese on top . We feed six people with the pizza an appetizer. we were good to go amazing place. I will definitely come back make a reservation if possible.

Wow this place was very good! It was our first night here in NYC and we weren’t sure were to go but a friend recommended us here. So we got a reservation which is a must have and got seated right around 7:30 (which was our reservation). It was scrubbusy in here and my only concerns were the lighting was really low and the music was so loud so we could barley hear. Our waiter was nice but I think it was like his first day because he seemed a little frazzled and messed the check up. The service was quick though. We got the ricotta with honey and baby kale salad. Both of these were so delicious and flavorful. The nuts on the ricotta really added the extra. Then we all got pasta for dinner and the truffle cacio de Pepe was my favorite. It wasn’t to creamy which I like and the noodles were long and perfect. The truffle flavor was just right not overpowering. We were to stuffed for dessert. It was pricey but I expected that. So overall great way to end the night!

I used to really love this place. Went back last night after not having been in many years. I used to think it was a better Carbone but I was underwhelmed by my food last night. Little gem ceasar appeared to have what tasted like lemon zest which was too over powering. The veal milanese was average at best A bit dry and too much mozzarella on top. Just not that appealing. The desserts were the highlight. The chocolate olive oil cake was terrific and huge. You have to share it. The service was accommodating but our waiter disappeared for long stretches. Nonetheless the enormous space was packed. My friends enjoyed their pastas but weren't blown away. I hope this was just an aberration. I'm going to Quality Meats for my birthday in two weeks! Haven't been there in years either.

For me a rating is based on total experience and this restaurant excelled in every area. The main dining room is on the second floor but on the first floor is a bar with a few tables and garage doors that open fully. We went for lunch and it was a beautiful day so we sat at a table which was open to the outside, perfection for me. Service was great, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, can’t ask for anything more. I definitely need to return to try more menu items but for this visit the gnocchi was the star. Literally melt in your mouth and the leek in the sauce was present but not overwhelming. Absolute 10 out of 10 in my opinion. Ricotta appetizer was delicious and creamy. Very mild flavor. I asked for extra honey which was great and would have loved more pine nuts also because the texture added a lot to the dish. The tomato and Stracciatella was very good but wasn’t wowed. Likely my fault should not have ordered two cheese appetizers. They start the meal with a small pan of bread. Yummm!!! Flavorful and chewy in the best way. Drinks also very good. Highly recommend this restaurant and plan on returning soon.

What a great experience, we came on a Friday night our first time in New York City celebrating joint mine and my boyfriend’s 21st birthday and also anniversary, this place was incredible. The staff really went above and beyond for us and treated us so well next time we’re in the city we’re definitely returning. They very kindly brang out a lemon sorbet desert for us to on the house. The vibes and the atmosphere of the restaurant are also great. A bit more on the pricier side depending what you get but worth every penny

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality Italian Classic NYC Glam Meets Modern Flavor Dinner at Quality Italian was an experience that completely lived up to the hype sophisticated, flavorful, and full of that signature New York charm. From the chic ambiance to the incredible service, everything felt perfectly curated. I started the evening with one of their signature cocktails light, pretty, and perfectly balanced. For appetizers, the crab-stuffed shells were incredible rich, creamy, and beautifully plated. The main course was the highlight of the night: tableside pasta that was both a performance and a flavor masterpiece. Watching it being prepared right in front of me made the whole experience feel exclusive and special. And that dessert? Unforgettable. Warm, rich, and paired with a scoop of ice cream that melted perfectly into every bite pure heaven. The atmosphere was cozy yet upscale, with dim lighting, great music, and those classic NYC views just outside the window. Whether it’s date night, a celebration, or a chic dinner out, Quality Italian is the definition of city dining done right. Midtown Manhattan, NYC Must-try: Crab-Stuffed Shells + Tableside Pasta Perfect for: Date night, special occasions, or an elegant evening out in the city
